Tim Auger

Tim Auger was introduced to NDT in 1972 by his employment with the pipe manufacturer IPSCO, as an electronic technician, repairing ultrasonic flaw detectors and building transducers used in the inspection of pipe. Along came The National Energy Program in 1982 which ended all that. Tim Auger is the founder and President of Custom Pipe Services Inc. He has more than thirty years of experience in the field of Non-Destructive Testing Techniques.

While with the pipe company he obtained his Senior level UT certification and Level II certification in Magnetic Particle Inspection. From 1982 until 1987 Tim worked for various NDT contractors in the Edmonton area as well as in the Middle East.

In 1987 Custom Pipe Services Inc. was created to provide NDT services to the pressure vessel and pipe manufacturing industry in western Canada.

As well as providing Manual Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Hardness testing, Positive Material Identification and Optical Emission Spectroscopy Services, Custom Pipe Services Inc. began performing Automated Ultrasonic Inspection services of thick wall pressure vessels used Northern Oilsands firms in Alberta.

Tim has made it a priority to service Custom Pipe Services Inc. clients with only Nationally certified technicians who display respect for client’s and those who enjoy and desire to constantly improve their knowledge of the N.D.T. industry.
